The loudest food police is usually in our own head. Negative thoughts are constantly running around in there. They can’t help it. “Eat this, don’t eat that” “You know that sugary sweets are bad” “That is so fattening” “If I don’t exercise today I’ll gain a pound” “What is wrong with me, why can’t I ever do the right thing” “You should feel so guilty for not sticking to what you planned for today” After years of dieting and dieting failures, there are bound to be bad, guilty, defeating thoughts building up their strength.
STOP THESE THOUGHTS…REPLACE THESE THOUGHTS.
Being negative will get you nowhere. I know it sounds so cliche but its true. The more positive you think (even if it feels like you are acting) the better all of your outcomes will be. When you begin to use positive self-talk, I guarantee that you will begin to act in positive ways. You will find it easier the more you practice being positive and implementing positive actions. A lighter, happier feeling will follow and with that you will eventually be able to flip the switch in your head when that strong negative self-talker shouts. Soon that loud negative voice will lose it’s strength and then lose it’s power. You can overpower that negative food police. It takes time, practice and trust.
Challenge your food police today.
