If you plan on having a “last supper” tonight, what do you think you are going to feel like tomorrow?
I bet you won’t be feeling very well. First, you will probably feel very full and possibly disgusted with yourself. And/or the polar opposite thoughts and feelings might arise. Because you have decided to once again begin a new or all too familiar weight control diet plan, coupled with the anxiety of feeling out of control, you might be feeling very excited and full of hope. Hope that this time you’ll make this diet work! After all, your negative self-talk spends a lot of time reassuring and repeating that you failed at all of your other attempts to follow a sensible plan – it certainly was not the plan itself. If there is one guarantee I can make you, it is that you will never follow a diet or any other food plan for the rest of your life. Somewhere along the way you will get tired, get tempted or simply give in. Nobody on this planet can stay with a program who’s rules are dictated from a source other than themselves. It just cannot be done.
Rest assured the only way to have a permanent healthy relationship with food is to listen to your kind and caring inner voice that tells you when you are really hungry and exactly what you are hungry for. That voice really does exist for you to succeed at whatever you truly believe in. You should be deriving pleasure and satisfaction from your meals. Not guilt and frenzy.
Enjoy all of your food all of the time when you eat intuitively and give yourself permission to actually live like a naturally thin person!
Say no to what I call the last supper syndrome.
