everyone deserves a “do over” (or two, or three…)

Don’t ever expect to be perfect. Each day, choosing to choose to do the best you can, to be the person you want to be is all that you should expect of yourself. We all tend to expect to decide something and then execute it perfectly…usually the first time!!! Athletes have a goal and fail, fail, and fail some more until they are able to achieve their result. Babies fall so many times when learning to stand and walk before they are stable. Erasers, White Out and the delete button were all invented because it is human to make mistakes along the way. I could go on and on…but you get the point.
Give yourself a “do over” whenever you need to. That way you won’t feel like a “failure” or someone that just cannot achieve whatever you are attempting to achieve. We don’t change overnight. And, during any change, we don’t just decide and then be “perfect” at that task. If you allow yourself the gift of some “do overs”, you will not get out of control with guilt, shame or disappointment. When you can “expect” mistakes along the way, you will push forward and not get stuck in a cycle of the behaviors you are trying to change.
Give yourself permission to have a “do over”!
