pitted dates or raisins
either: (depending on the sweetness you desire)
orange juice
any non-dairy milk
water

in a plastic container with lid:
place pitted dates or raisins,almost to the top of container
pour desired liquid to completely cover the fruit
place lid on container
let sit in refrigerator overnight
or at least a few hours.
when fruit has absorbed some/most of the liquid:
process fruit and all the liquid in blender until smooth.
add more liquid if you need it a little less ‘pastey’.
will keep in refrigerator a few days or
i freeze it in smaller containers for future use.
you will be surprised how sweet this can make any recipe.
no refined sugar, only loads of fiber and nutrients!!! yay!!!

One of the most important questions I would like you to ask yourself every morning before you start off for your day is: “Am I telling myself the real truth?”
Is what you tell yourself about how you look and feel each day the real truth? How about what kind of person you think you are? Could you really be “that” bad? Are there things about you that you can find that you love, appreciate, admire? Yes, there are! There is always a REAL truth about yourself. A lot of times we believe our own “myths”. Stop yourself each morning, if just for a moment to tell yourself the REAL truth. It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and bring all of your “positive” to the forefront of your brain for the day and push any of those negatives far enough back that you’d have to work hard to tap into them!
Tell yourself the real truth!

incredible edibles…easiest, vegan-i-est, onion soup

2-3 large organic onions, thinly sliced
a small swirl organic olive oil
1 lg. organic clove garlic, crushed or minced finely
1/4 c.(ish) any organic flour (I use spelt)
4 c. organic veggie broth
1/4 c.(ish) organic tamari (soy sauce)
any organic whole grain bread, cut into cubes and toasted
(optional)shredded SoySation Brand cheese (to top serving bowls)

in a soup pot:
heat the oil and saute:
the onions and garlic until just beginning to brown
stir in:
flour, and combine well
add and bring to a boil
the veggie broth
and
tamari sauce
cover and reduce heat to simmer
simmer approx. 15-25 minutes, until softened
when ready to serve:
ladle in bowls and top w/toasted bread chunks
I like to sprinkle a tiny bit of SoySation Shredded Cheese on top.
Yummy and Cozy soup!

You can “popeye” any smoothie.
Any smoothie you make from any cookbook recipe or your own creation can be “popeyed” to boost it’s nutrition without changing, altering or adding to the intended flavor.
Adding handsful of fresh spinach or kale is the best “hidden secret” to a great smoothie.
If you don’t tell, no one will know!

Where has dieting gotten you? Are you comfortably at a “goal weight”? I bet not. And if you have achieved that “number”, are you able to keep that weight by living and eating everything that you love without any guilt or shame?
The first Principle of Intuitive Eating is: REJECT THE DIET MENTALITY.
This is probably one of the hardest principles to put into action because “diets” are always omnipresent. You can’t go 1 day without hearing about “this new diet” or “that new plan”. Everyone has a “magic” plan. “This one is the last diet you’ll ever have to be on”…
Putting all of your effort into “trying” this new plan really takes it’s toll. Think about it.
You pick a diet plan. You get very excited. You buy new foods. You prepare. You are so positive “this” one will work this time, for good. (of course, you wait until Monday to begin…you want to get in those “last suppers”!)
So, Monday comes. “You can do it”, you tell yourself. You are able to “follow the program” for that first day. “Yay for me” is what you feel as you end that day. “I did it”. “I’m a good person and can follow instructions”.
Second day, third day, fourth day…..it’s always a different day that you begin to “slip”. And, each time you “slip” back into “old habits”, you slowly chip away at your self esteem and self worth. Your eating should never be attached to your self worth! Just as a number on a scale should never define you.
When you can begin to reject the enviable diet mentality failure syndrome, you will begin your road to true peace with food. You will also have opened the door to the amazing world of enjoying, loving and celebrating your food and as an aside, your body will always adjust to it’s healthy, comfortable weight. You will not ever again have to put effort and equity sweat into achieving the body you desire.
Eat what you love.
Eat when you are hungry.
Stop when you are no longer hungry.
Begin today!

incredible edibles…easy, peezy, cheezy tortilla pizza

whole grain tortilla (Ezekiel sprouted or Spelt or …)
pasta sauce (preferably 1-2-3 pasta sauce – easy recipe to follow)
mushrooms, sliced
olives, sliced
shredded SoySation Cheeze

top tortilla w/pasta sauce and spread evenly (ish)
top w/sliced mushrooms and sliced olives
sprinkle with shredded cheeze
“toast” in toaster over for approx. 3-5 min. being careful not to burn
done! couldn’t be easier or tastier!

1-2-3 pasta sauce
1 sm. can organic tomato paste
2-15oz. cans organic tomatoes, chopped (w/basil, garlic, whichever you have on hand)
1/4 c.(ish) red sweet wine
1 clove organic garlic, crushed or chopped fine
however many shakes (to taste) Italian Seasoning (I like Simply Organic brand)
throw all ingredients into a large enough glass baking dish w/cover
microwave about 5-8 minutes until bubbly
1-2-3 done!
